One of the great advantages of a handmade Stonewall Saddle is our ability to build it to fit your horse. We’ll make it simple for you, here’s how:

Fitting a saddle to your horse can be broken down into two steps:

1) Macro-fitting - Your horses back is measured -we recommend using the Dennis Lane Equine Back Measuring Kit demonstrated below.

2) Micro-fitting - The conformal foam, under the saddle tree, does this job by shaping itself to your horses back and fine tuning the fit.

The Card System allows us to build a simple 3D model of your horse, store the data in a database, and track how a horse changes shape with age and conditioning. It also allows us to tell you how to shim a saddle pad if you will be using the saddle on multiple horses. The Cards can be purchased directly from the web site of our mate Dennis Lane from Down Under, or you may borrow ours.
