Stonewall Saddle Company

It is easy for a rider to find a balanced position on a Stonewall Saddle.
The seat is flat and the stirrups positioned for balance whether standing, posting, or sitting.
Stirrups are free swinging to reduce stress on the rider’s hip, knee, and ankle joints.
The riders seat is padded with shock absorbing foam and covered with black leather. This type of foam absorbs dynamic shocks from the riders movements and increases the comfort for both horse and horseman. Riders will appreciate the cutback saddle tree bars that reduce leg spread and strain on hip joints and will find the basic seat to be comfortable on the trail.
We are now offering an optional ergonomically designed ‘endurance’ seat on our saddles. This seat has a double layer of shock foam under the riders seat bones and additional sculpting under the riders thighs to provide added comfort over many miles of trail. Photos coming soon....
The swell of the Stonewall saddle is tall and generously wide. This keeps all pressure off of sensitive withers and spines.
The gullet is open all the way from front to back leaving a channel thru which cooling air can flow.
The underside of the saddle is lined with chrome tanned sheepskin in cream, 3/4” shear.
If you have a tall withered equine, this is the saddle for you.

Stonewall uses a proprietary, lightweight, premium quality rawhide covered tree.
Hand crafted in the U.S.A. and available nowhere else! We were the first to design
a tree specifically for long distance riding. Bar pads are generous in size to reduce
pressure and are shortened at the loin to better suit the endurance athlete. A flat
seat and generous middle bar scarf keeps the rider balanced and comfortable.
The
tree is made from tight grained, winter cut Colorado spruce for the highest strength
to weight ratio and CNC milled for ultra precise symmetry.
Our swells are fiber
reinforced, and jig assembled. The tree is then fully rawhide covered and slowly
dried and aged to eliminate warping.

Finally, saddle fit IS rocket science!
Stonewall adds a very special conformal foam to the underside of the saddle tree

We offer two stirrup choices for your Stonewall Saddle.
Our LEATHER COVERED STIRRUPS are made from super tough nylon reinforced polymer so
they are guaranteed unbreakable under any riding condition. We add a shock absorbing
foam footpad for increased comfort, add tempered steel bolts for strength and aircraft
locking nuts for security. Then we cover them inside and out with the finest leather
and secure the whole assembly with one continuous stitch. Super lightweight -
We also offer PLASTIC TRAIL STIRRUPS. These durable stirrups are light weight and have an extra large padded tread for comfort on the trail.

The rigging straps are made from long lasting nylon and attached at the front and rear of the saddle. This attachment method pulls the saddle down evenly onto your horse, eliminates ‘saddle wagging’ at the loin, and eliminates bulk under your leg.
The position of the Latigo strap can be swung forward or aft by simply adjusting the rigging buckles. This allows each rider and horse team to position the cinch to suit themselves from “full, 7/8’s, 3/4, or centerfire” and all positions in between.

Our saddle trees are proprietary, rawhide covered, winter cut spruce. We select the best fitting tree from our stock and custom fit it to your horse.
The swell and gullet are tall and wide to provide plenty of wither and spine clearance.
NASA designed conformal foam, on the bar underside, shapes itself to your horse’s back.
The secure rider’s seat is padded with shock absorbing foam to reduce dynamic impacts.
Shock absorbing stirrups positioned for easy balance.
Rigging is fully adjustable forward and aft and pulls the saddle evenly onto the horse’s back.
Flat seat allows movement of rider body position to suit terrain or ease comfort over time.
